Usui Shiki Ryoho Healing System - 'Reiki'.

Reiki is a pure, simple and remarkable healing system and can also be an enlightening spiritual practice, which compliments your existing faith or belief system. I have attuned many people from many faiths and of many diverse belief systems to this wonderful healing art and all find a resonance with the Principles behind Reiki practice.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is the word that originates from two Japanese Kanji (as pictured above left) and which translated mean Universal Life Force Energy. This universal energy surrounds us all and is empowered by intention.  And here in the West, the word 'Reiki' has also become known as the word to describe the Usui Shiki Ryoho System of Natural Healing (you can see why!).

This form of energy healing is becoming increasingly recognised for its ability to heal on all levels (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) and promote total holistic wellbeing. It energises and heals the body, reduces stress and works in conjunction with other healthcare and medical treatments.

What Reiki Practitioners receive when they are attuned to Reiki is a stronger, more conscious connection to their own healing potential, together with the ability to draw upon amplified healing energies for the good of themselves and of others.

And through the teachings of the Five Reiki Principles they find a way to focus their lives and Intentions, to only seek the positives in life, to view the world from a place of love and respect and to relinquish anger and worry, realising that they are heavy emotional responses that use up our own energy resources but do nothing to improve situations.

Reiki Healing Treatments - Beverley Lewis

I am an experienced Usui Reiki Master and Teacher and can trace my Lineage directly back to the founder Mikao Usui. I am an insured Practitioner and a member of The Reiki Healers and Teachers Society. I am delighted to offer a relaxed and empowering Reiki healing and teaching practice.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a gentle and yet powerful energy healing technique that promotes self healing through relaxing 'Reiki Giving Hour' treatments, where I channel Universal Healing Energy through my hands, eyes and breath for your Highest Good. Giving Hour Treatments usually take an hour and a half, to allow for treatment planning and further discussion.

Reiki Practitioners are Attuned to this energy in order to channel it for healing of self and others. Reiki Master Practitioners, like myself, have enhanced healing abilities and are able if appropriate, to give Master Healing Attunements which deliver the equivalent of a Reiki Giving Hour treatment in just 15 minutes.

Reiki Healing can also be received through Distance Healing, allowing you to receive Reiki Healing energy at a time and in a place to suit your schedule, without accessing your Reiki Practitioner in person. Reiki is no less effective when received in this way and the wonderful thing here is, that you don't need to worry about becoming fully alert again or driving home!

There are some health and wellbeing considerations that taken into account when receiving Reiki or other forms of Energy Healing and therefore a full consultation will be completed before your treatment begins, so that I have an idea of your general health, lifestyle and energy levels before we start. It might be necessary for us to let your GP know that you would like to receive energy healing, before we go ahead with the treatments. If this is the case, I will advise you so and will write to your GP on your behalf.

During your Reiki Treatment you should feel very relaxed and may even fall asleep! This is quite normal and acceptable so please don't worry about it at all. If you would like to talk during your treatment, again this is quite acceptable and not a problem at all, it won't interfere with your healing at all, in fact, it will be part of it! You may experience some sensations when receiving your healing, such as heat from my hands (they tend to get very hot!), or tingling on your body, where my hands are or where the energy is flowing to. You might be aware of twitching (which are often signs of energy blockages being released) and you might even see colours when your eyes are shut!

Some people even have wonderful dream like experiences, visit beautiful places, meet guides or Angels or lost loved ones! Your Reiki experience is your own and your healing takes place on a level that you require, so enjoy!

It is important to be receptive to this healing energy as you are the one who, on a higher energetic level, calls in the energy that enables healing to take place. Your Reiki Practitioner is simply a channel for the energy, acting a little bit like a straw or a funnel, guiding the energies to you for you to take and use in whatever quantity your own energy system needs. You can never take too much energy and your healing will always take place for your highest good.

The healing doesn't stop when your treatment finishes, Reiki usually continues to flow for several hours or a day or two afterwards and I very often request that you continue to receive your healing each night when you go to sleep for a week or two afterwards.

There are no side effects to Reiki healing so to speak, but it is important to drink lots of water - at least a litre of water in the 12 hours following a treatment - as Reiki enhances your body's cleansing and detoxifying abilities, making your kidneys more efficient, which means that you will need to keep your water levels topped up to prevent getting a hang over style headache!

Usui Reiki Workshops

I am a qualified and experienced Master Teacher, registered with the Reiki Healers and Teachers Society  and I am pleased to offer you an empowering Reiki teaching practice in which all courses are conducted in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at my home in Heckington. I am also able to travel within 50 miles of Sleaford, Lincolnshire, if you are able to host a workshop in your own home or suitable local venue.

My workshop content is recognised and validated by the Reiki HATS and you will be able to register and develop your own Reiki Practice through attending my workshops. I do not hold a formal teaching certificate, but neither do I formally teach! I like to teach in a relaxed and informal way, which I feel helps to remove any potential barriers to learning and creates a welcoming environment for you. All my workshops are small too, usually with no more than 4-8 people attending.

It's lovely to see how the Universe works in bringing just who and what we need into our lives at the right time! But, if you would prefer to learn on your own, I am also able to offer one to one teaching. I would suggest though, that for Second Degree you consider joining a group if possible, simply because it's nice to get some practice working with the energies on other people and their auras.

Each workshop comes with a comprehensive Manual detailing the teaching material, which will be sent to you on receipt of your deposit booking, so that you can do some advanced reading on the course content in preparation for our day.

You will also receive a certificate on completion of the teaching aims and objectives, which for many of the Degrees is at the end of the day or two day course. The exceptions are Second Degree, where you are asked to produce some Evidence of Practice in giving full, distance and self treatments before you receive your certificate and Teacher Degree or Master/Teacher Degree, should you prefer some mentorship before completing and finalising payment for your course.

Reiki is a journey and not simply a one day process and I also offer unlimited support via email or telephone following your courses. If I can help, I will! It is an honour and a privilege to be helping you along your own Reiki Journey into your healing potential and your true self.  

 Usui Reiki Attunements

It is possible to receive your Usui Reiki Attunements distantly and many fine Reiki Practitioners and Masters have received their connection to their energy healing gifts in this way. However, there are great strides being made by many of the Reiki Support organisations to regulate Reiki Teaching and Therapy practice and they have stipulated that in order to become a recognised and registered practitioner, you must have received your attunements directly from a Reiki Master, in person.

I therefore do not offer Distance attunements to Usui Reiki, although as you will see, I do many Distance attunements for the Reiki modalities, Angelic Attunements and Energy Healing Systems. Distance healing as we all know, works. Distance Attunements, as we all know, work. That isn't the issue here.

In accessing your Reiki Master for the attunements, the assurance is given that you will have had some measured learning experience, some access to an individual who has received their own attunements directly from a Reiki Master, in person, has worked with the energies personally for some time and will be able to answer any questions you may have or guide your practice according to your needs.

If you have received distance attunements with little or no follow up support, with limited course materials/manuals, or have struggled to work your own way through what you were sent or what you are experiencing when using Reiki, you may be better advised to start afresh and attend the full courses, to maximise your learning experience. You will gain significantly from receiving your attunements again - Mikao Usui advocated regular empowerments (attunements) to enhance our healing gifts anyway; and will work through the course content with your teacher present to support you.

If you have received your Usui Reiki connection distantly and are happy with your knowledge and practice, but would now like to receive them in person in order to validate your Practice and qualify under these new Reiki Regulatory criteria, I am able to offer tailor made courses with attunements to your current level of practice, where we work through the course material together validating knowledge and verifying experience, for a reduced course fee.

As well as offering Usui Reiki workshops and treatments, I hold Master Teacher certificates in a number of specialist Reiki Modalities and Healing Systems. I am pleased to be able to share the healing and spiritual development benefits of these modalities with you.
